Powers and abilities:

Payton considers himself as a psychic, only backwards. Instead of predicting the future, he can see the past. This is done through interaction of objects and other odds and ends he comes in contact with (most commonly bodies). Each object he comes in contact with, provides a clue to the puzzle of each case he’s working on. Helping him provide a scenario in his head to the truth behind a case. As a bonus, he can get a descent description of the suspect in question to his colleagues out of it along with other tidbit information. It has been very useful in saving his life on more than one occasion as well.

Payton is ranked Second highest Marksman in the Police Academy out of Pittsburgh area. He knows how to make his mark. His accuracy is near dead on.

Weaknesses and Drawbacks

The following things Payton are unable to see while using his gift:
-License Numbers
-Facial Descriptions (With the exception of piercings, tattoos, scars and other markings)
-Street Signs
-Addresses
-Name’s of places

Although his gift has been handy, it’s also been quite difficult for him as well. Due to the ability which he possesses, Payton carries the memories of the fallen as a result. Which in turn can be twisted into his own memories when he is sleeping at night. Due to this fact, he can suffer from insomnia ultimately. As a means to cope with the memories, and help him sleep, he’s resorted to alcoholism. However, it’s generally just enough until he gets tired and eventually sleeps peacefully.

Bio:

A shy detective, Payton is blessed (or what he considers, cursed) with the third eye. This gift allows him to piece together scenarios accurately and efficiently, helping progress the case quicker than it would normally take. The scenarios are executed through object interaction, which gives him a perspective on a specific crime. Tracking is one thing it’s useful for, also helpful with descriptions of locations, clothing etc. He does have difficulty with faces, numbers, and addresses. These are things which are hardly noticed based on human behavior.

One thing to note is he drinks. It isn’t any more of problem than a solution. Oddly, he doesn’t drink for the enjoyment, but to help him sleep His Third eye gift tends to leave him with the memories of each case he solved or worked on based on his findings. When he does hit his limit, he can be found in one of these locations, at the bar, in an alley or street, at his residence, or most commonly, under his 1958 Plymouth Belvedere.

Other Notes:

During the Eric Bonner Case, Payton was seriously injured during the final showdown with the prime suspect. He was treated for internal injuries due to Bonner ramming him like a bulldozer spending two weeks suffering from insomnia as a result of prescription drugs to help with his injuries.

He was also treated for minor burns while escorting Tracy “Sugar” Candle.

Payton hates Zombies. It has been hinted that the roots originate during his time with the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Police Force while working on one of the cases there.

Payton was nearly stabbed to death in his own office during Sugar’s visit. As it turns out, the visitor wasn’t Sugar at all due to the real one seeking Sanctuary at his partners home.

Payton despises the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) due to an unrelated case he almost solved in Seattle.

While searching for Dr. Footman, Payton was clubbed from behind and tossed into the ocean only to be saved by the local Amphibious Girl, Maggie.

Aside from his Belvedere, Payton also has a Mid to Late 70’s Dodge Ramcharger he drives for winter use. He also has a 1967 GT500 Cobra which he recently gained from Pablo down in San Francisco.

It has been proven that other gifted individuals with Third Eye Capabilities are unable channel in on him due to his gift clashing. Madame Zoltara has proven this while trying to look into the future of Payton and his partner.
